The First Noel

1. O well, O well, the Angels did say

To shepherds there in the fields did lay;

Late in the night a-folding their sheep,

A winter's night, both cold and bleak.

Refrain

O well, O well, O well, O well,

Born is the King of Israel.

2. And then there did appear a Star,

Whose glory then did shine so far:

Unto the earth it gave a great light,

And there it continued a day and a night.

3. And by the light of that same Star,

Three Wise Men came from country far;

To seek a King was their intent -

They follow'd the Star wherever it went.

4. The Star went before them unto the North West,

And seemed o'er the City of Bethlehem to rest,

And there did remain by night and by day,

Right over the place where Jesus Christ lay.

5. Then enter'd in these Wise Men three,

With reverence fall on their knee,

And offer'd up in His presence

The gifts of gold and frankincense.

6. 'Tween an ox manger and an ass,

Our Blest Messiah's place it was;

To save us all from bond and thrall,

He was a Redeemer for us all!

The First Noel

1. The first Noel the angel did say

Was to certain poor shepards in fields as they lay:

In fields where they lay a keeping their sheep

On a cold winter's night that was so deep.

Refrain:

Noel Noel Noel Noel

Born is the King of Israel.

2. They looked up and saw a star

Shining in the east beyond them far:

And to the earth it gave great light

And so it continued both day and night.

3. And by the light of that same star

Three wise men came from the country far;

To seek for a King was their intent,

And to follow the star wherever it went.

4. This star drew nigh to the north-west;

O'er Bethlehem it took it's rest,

And there it did both stop and stay,

Right over the place where Jesus lay.

5. Then entered in those wise men three,

Fell reverently upon their knee,

And offered there in his presence

Their gold and myrrh and frankincense.

6. Then let us all with one accord

Sing praises to our heavenly Lord,

That hath made heaven and earth of nought,

And with his blood mankind has bought.

Nô-ên Đầu Tiên

1. Nô-ên đầu tiên thiên sứ rao truyền

Cho kẻ chăn nghèo đang thức quanh miền,

Quây quần cùng nhau canh giữ chiên nhà,

Đêm giá canh trường thân phủ sương già.

Điệp Khúc:

Nô-ên, Nô-ên, Nô-ên, Nô-ên,

Chính đêm sanh Vua Y-sơ-ra-ên!

2. Bỗng một ngôi sao họ thấy xa xa,

Đang chiếu bên trời đông ánh rạng lòa;

Tia hào quang kia soi khắp sơn hà,

Không cứ đêm ngày soi sáng muôn nhà.

3. Cũng nhờ hào quang do chính sao nầy,

Bác sĩ băng ngàn chung đến vui vầy,

Bước lần lần theo sao sáng trên trời,

Nôn nả đi tìm Vua mới ra đời.

4. Nay mừng nô-ên ta hát một bài,

Cung kính khen ngợi Chân Chúa thiên đài,

Muôn vật được nên do Chúa phán tuyên,

Tuôn huyết tha tội ơn cứu linh huyền.
