1. The old year now hath passed away;
We thank Thee, O our God, today
That Thou hast kept us through the year
When danger and distress were near.
2. We pray Thee, O eternal Son,
Who with the Father reign’st as One,
To guard and rule Thy Christendom
Through all the ages yet to come.
3. Take not Thy saving Word away,
Our souls’ true comfort, staff, and stay.

Vùn Vụt Năm Cũ Nay Đã Qua
1. Vùn vụt năm cũ nay đã qua rồi
Năm mới chúng tôi thầm tạ Ba Ngôi
Đã dắt đưa qua một năm vẹn toàn
Bao lúc khó khăn, sầu khổ, tai nạn.
2. Nguyện cùng Đức Chúa Con, Đấng muôn đời
Cai quản với Cha muôn sự mọi nơi
Dắt dẫn, chăn nuôi bầy chiên dại khờ
Trong cả tân niên, mọi phút mọi giờ.
3. Nguyện hộ cho chúng tôi thoát tội trần
Lên chốn cao hơn, tinh sạch mười phân
Khuyết điểm năm qua nguyện qua sạch ngần
Ơn mới suốt năm đầy dẫy tâm thần.
4. Nguyện từ nay sống danh Chúa vẻ vang
Hay sớm tiêu diêu thiên thành bình an
Chúa đến, phước thay cùng nhau phục hoạt
Muôn thuở ở thiên đàng sống hoan lạc.
